Is it hopeless for an absolute novice to setup nextcloud on QNAP 863+?

I setup QNAP to work on my home network years ago and keep it running as a video editor. I want to use nextcloud memories to browse content and offload/browse from my phone.

So far the closest I’ve gotten was wrestling with ChatGPT putting code into the QNAP container station application YAML box but I’m at about my 100th time telling gpt what seems to have gone wrong and trying to enter new code. I give up. Is this hopeless for someone like me who can only follow simple instructions and knows nothing of the code terminology and structures? I did manage to get it nearly working once.

Thanks

In regards of your questions it’s better you learn stuff rather discussing endless issues with ChatGPT. Self-hosting requires a lot of knowledge and even there are many jump-start tutorials available you likely end up in trouble sooner or later if don’t understand what you do.

Please start at 101: Self-hosting information for beginners and once you are familiar with the basics you likely can adopt Problems with How to docker-compose with notify_push (2024) for qnap container station
