Update from version 28 to 29 failed

Hello,

my configuration:

  • Nextcloud Server version
    • 28
  • Operating system and version
    • Qnap TS-252B with QTS 5.2.7 (newest)

The problem

After I upgrated from version 28 to version 29 (by using docker compose) I cannot get a connection to Nextcloud any more. Firefox: connection failed.

I then tried to update to Version 30. Here I got the message:

Aktualisierung auf 30.9.17

Updates between multiple major versions and downgrades are not supported.

So I tries to install version 28 again, but I also got the message: connection failed

Portainer always shows, that a container with the correct version is running

So I do not know, how to get out of this loop

I have “solved” the problem by making a new installation with Nextcloud V32 and using the backup to recover the datas.

In the future, if this comes up again for you (or anyone reading this thread);

  • Check the container log
  • Check the nextcloud.log

Thank you for your help.

The nextclod.log was nearly unreadible, more then 9.000 lines and a lot of lines with several 100 characters. I was not able to see anything helpfull for me within this log.

I would recommend to educate yourself with the system you setup
