likely you don’t have valid public TLS certificates for this hostname and this is exactly the problem - both system don’t trust each other and can not interact for this reason. From the Collabora integration guide:

TLDR; there is not difference which certs public or private CA you use - but running own CA and deploying certificates everywhere is real pain - so don’t even try until you really understand what are doing!

Looks like your using X.509 certificates with a missing or wrong Subject Alternative Name (SAN).

I recommend using simple “snake oil” certificates instead of X.509 certificates. This should be sufficient if you only use Nextcloud locally and/or don’t plan to add the certificates to your browser’s certificate store.

To use them simply run:

sudo make-ssl-cert generate-default-snakeoil --force-overwrite

and then add the following lines (instead the ones you have now) to you your Apache SSL Host config:

SSLCertificateFile /etc/ssl/certs/ssl-cert-snakeoil.pem
SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/ssl/private/ssl-cert-snakeoil.key

If you plan to add the certificates to your browser’s certificate store so that your browser trusts them, and/or if you want to make your current setup work, you will probably need to regenerate your self-signed X.509 certificate and include the correct hostname, nextcloud-prod.fritz.box, in the SAN field.

A few more additions

Of course, the above posters are right that self-signed certificates are not ideal. They generally just create more potential issues. Therefore, I always recommend using a registered domain name and “real” SSL certificates for a production instance, even if it’s only for local use.

For example, while you can get Collabora to work (at least with the snakeoil certificates) other things may never work. i.e. I never got the Talk-HPB backend to work with self-signed certificates. Also, self-signed certificates can cause issues with certain client apps; some of which may not work at all, especially on iOS.

Furthermore, regarding the X.509 certificates: I have experimented extensively with OpenSSL, attempting to generate X.509 certificates for an install script I wrote to set up test instances. Despite trying various combinations of CNs and SANs, I never got Nextcloud Office to work. However, it works for me with the “Snakeoil” certificates. Of course, this specific issue may as well be on my end, as I am not exactly an expert on the topic.

Please allow me to disagree.

self-signed or private CA certificates technically offer same level of protection as commercial or free ones from letsencrypt, they are simply not trusted by default. reasons exist, one may agree or disagree but is reality today - every day it becomes harder to use “non public” TLS certificates. I don’t like this trust into public root CAs but I think it is the way to go. There are so many security aspects - it’s not worth to think about TLS certificates - other things like webserver security is by far more important than TLS certs.

The point is not - “if it is possible” to use (yes it is) - the most important drawback to use TLS certificates not trusted by “browser forum” is management overhead. Each system involved (in case of office minimum 3 already!) must trust your CA certificates.. as soon you add users or devices e.g. mobile, friend, you must add you CA everywhere.. which is often hard or even impossible.

And my conclusion - don’t do this!
(..and trust me: people who know, how and why to use own certificates likely don’t ask questions in this forum)

Well, thank you all for the hints and support, but at the end I cant get it to work. I dont see route how to debug or narrow down my issue with Nextcloud Office. Maybe its my fault, maybe not. I keep using Onlyoffice, as it works out of the box. Nextcloud Office seem to be volatile at least on my system.
