Getting help

In order to help you as efficiently (and quickly!) as possible, please fill in as much of the below requested information as you can.

Before clicking submit: Please check if your query is already addressed via the following resources:

(Utilizing these existing resources is typically faster. It also helps reduce the load on our generous volunteers while elevating the signal to noise ratio of the forums otherwise arising from the same queries being posted repeatedly).

Some or all of the below information will be requested if it isn’t supplied; for fastest response please provide as much as you can.

The Basics

  • Nextcloud Server version (e.g., 29.x.x):
  • Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 24.04):
    • Debian 6.12.57-1~bpo12+1 (2025-11-17) x86_64
  • Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Yes / No):
    • Yes
  • When did this problem seem to first start?
    • Today
  • Installation method (e.g. AlO, NCP, Bare Metal/Archive, etc.)
    • AIO
  • Are you using CloudfIare, mod_security, or similar? (Yes / No)
    • No

Summary of the issue you are facing:

When attempting to load the AIO interface on port 8080, I am shown a webpage that says only: “Slim Application Error // A website error has occurred. Sorry for the temporary inconvenience. // Go Back”. There is no further detail.

The main Nextcloud website on port 80 loads and is fully functional. I haven’t found any other errors. It has been a while since I have updated my containers, and I know that the master container has been out of date for ~ a couple of weeks. Since last accessing the AIO interface I have updated Debian packages, but have not touched the Nextcloud installation.

I have read Slim Application Error in AIO Interface and Slim Application Error when accessing AIO but their issues seem to be different, and they have more information presented to them. Not sure how to proceed to debug further so any help is appreciated!

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

  1. Fail to update Nextcloud AIO containers, including master container

  2. Wait for a couple of weeks to pass, and update other system packages.

  3. Attempt to load Nextcloud AIO to update containers.

Log entries

Nextcloud

Please provide the log entries from your Nextcloud log that are generated during the time of problem (via the Copy raw option from Administration settings->Logging screen or from your nextcloud.log located in your data directory). Feel free to use a pastebin/gist service if necessary.

[no mention of "slim" anywhere within the log files, only:]

Web Browser

If the problem is related to the Web interface, open your browser inspector Console and Network tabs while refreshing (reloading) and reproducing the problem. Provide any relevant output/errors here that appear.

Tips for increasing the likelihood of a response

  • Use the preformatted text formatting option in the editor for all log entries and configuration output.
  • If screenshots are useful, feel free to include them.
    • If possible, also include key error output in text form so it can be searched for.
  • Try to edit log output only minimally (if at all) so that it can be ran through analyzers / formatters by those trying to help you.

Hi, can you please post the output of sudo docker logs nextcloud-aio-mastercontainer here?

Hi szaimen,

I can post the log in full if needed, but I’ve just found in it the following

Tips: To display error details in HTTP response set “displayErrorDetails” to true in the ErrorHandler constructor.
NOTICE: PHP message: Slim Application Error
Type: Exception
Code: 0
Message: Could not create the nextcloud-aio network: {“message”:“client version 1.41 is too old. Minimum supported API version is 1.44, please upgrade your client to a newer version”}
File: /var/www/docker-aio/php/src/Docker/DockerActionManager.php
Line: 916
Trace: #0 /var/www/docker-aio/php/src/Docker/DockerActionManager.php(946): AIO\Docker\DockerActionManager->ConnectContainerIdToNetwork(‘nextcloud-aio-m
’, ‘’)

which I presume is the root of the error!

I have seen on Slim Application Error in AIO Interface the command:
sudo docker exec nextcloud-aio-mastercontainer bash -lc “sed -i ‘s/1.41/1.44/g’ /var/www/docker-aio/php/src/Docker/DockerActionManager.php”

is something like this suitable here? I am of course slightly wary of running random commands in case I bungle the installation further!

Thanks, Ed

Hi, see GitHub - nextcloud/all-in-one: 📩 The official Nextcloud installation method. Provides easy deployment and maintenance with most features included in this one Nextcloud instance.

Running the following command to replace a single instance of the version number in DockerActionManager.php and restarting the mastercontainer docker allowed the web interface to run - and thus allowed me to update my containers. This saved me reconfiguring the docker from scratch!

sudo docker exec nextcloud-aio-mastercontainer bash -lc “sed -i ‘s/1.41/1.44/g’ /var/www/docker-aio/php/src/Docker/DockerActionManager.php”

Thanks for the help @szaimen
