Improving the appstore in order to improve how app updates are handled

Continuing the discussion from Apps with missing NC29 support:

Would be nice to move over related comments from the previous thread. Starting this dedicated discussion for how to improve the appstore. Feel free to link to earlier such discussions.

Yes, see annual release discussion and topics such as this one.

Would be nice to collect ideas from the maintainers themselves on what they would prefer. I’m happy that we are continuously creating posts such as this one on nc29 apps, but there is absolute room for improvement.

There are a lot of excellent suggestions in the issue tracker for the appstore. Curious which ones people feel would be the most helpful.

@tflidd This same sort of list would make way more sense within apps.nextcloud.com itself. Started a ticket to request a list view for the appstore, since it would help move the ball in this direction.

Well, I hacked this into the forum because it was somehow missing an overview so people can check which apps are missing support and help out. Ideally, we would not need that.

In theory, I might add stuff directly to the app store, but settings up some test environment with a test install is not trivial and the hacky stuff here was much easier. But on the long term perhaps a project for me…
