Upgrade from 22.2.3 to 23.0.0 fails (DB issue?)

Hi all.

tl;dr

See above. I restored from last night’s backup; 22.2.3 is running fine again.

I’m surprised, TBH: the updater has always been extremely reliable IME; this is the first time I’ve had any real issues with it.

The output in the browser suggested the process was working fine, as normal…then:

Update to 23.0.0
Exception: Database error when running migration latest for app core
Detailed logs
Preparing update
Set log level to debug
Turned on maintenance mode
Repair step: Repair MySQL collation
Repair info: Not a mysql database -> nothing to do
Repair step: Repair SQLite autoincrement
Repair step: Copy data from accounts table when migrating from ownCloud
Repair step: Drop account terms table when migrating from ownCloud
Updating database schema
Exception: Database error when running migration latest for app core
The update was unsuccessful. Please report this issue to the Nextcloud community.

If I’m interpreting that correctly, there’s good news and bad news:

  • it successfully determined that I wan’t running mysql :+1:
  • …but it seems to think I’m running sqlite rather than postgres

Has anyone else had this? Does anyone have any tips?

FWIW, I’m in no particular hurry to update. So if the consensus is “wait for the next point release and try again” that’s fine.

Thanks in advance, and best regards
