I am using the Nextcloud Talk Desktop app, and whenever I share a file — such as a PDF or Word document — the other person is not able to open it directly; they have to download it first. Is there any option in Nextcloud that allows the file to open directly instead of requiring a download?
- Is the other person a Talk guest or do they have a Nextcloud account?
- Do you have Nextcloud office and Collabora Office apps installed?
- Do you have any other collaborative office app installed?
Configure Guests in Administration settings → Guests to allow access to office apps if available:
If you have no collaborative office apps installed, you will only be able to collaborate with the default markdown editor using markdown files.
- Is the other person a Talk guest or do they have a Nextcloud account? - Yes person is having an account
- Do you have Nextcloud office and Collabora Office apps installed? - Yes, we are using nextcloud talk and workspace in office.
- Do you have any other collaborative office app installed? No, we are using talk and workspace only.
so you have no collaborative office app installed!
