There are folders that were not synced because they are too big or on external drive

One folder I added to my Nextcould/Documents folder in Finder (macOS) could not sync using the Desktop Client, I got the message:

There are folders that were not synced because they are too big or on external drive

I am not using an external drive, so apparently the 18 GB was too large. Which fits with another thread I found from about a year ago (though their folder was only 13 GB).

Since there was no answer to that, I’ll try bringing it up again; how large can a folder be by default, before it will no longer sync?

And more importantly, which was not asked last time, how do you change this?

I’m using the Nextcloud Desktop Client Version 3.3.5 (macOS), and Nextcloud v. 22.2.0.

there is a client setting on main tab (at least on Windows and Linux)

and if the folder exceeds the size you can manually check it for sync in the file tree…

Thanks, I see the same setting in the macOS client. I’ll try that.
