Getting help

In order to help you as efficiently (and quickly!) as possible, please fill in as much of the below requested information as you can.

Before clicking submit: Please check if your query is already addressed via the following resources:

Summary of the issue you are facing:

[I have 2 errors filling up the logger.

  1. RuntimeExceptionThe loading of lazy AppConfig values have been triggered by app “circles”, but I don’t have app circles installed. Wait, I do see circles app in the app list below but I did not see it in my app.
  2. Failed to create DateTimeZone “America/Los_Angeles”. The timezone in Personal page always shows America/Los Angeles. It seems I could not change, e.g. if I change timezone to New York and then come back to the Personal page again, it becomes “Los Angles” again.

Tips for increasing the likelihood of a response

  • Use the preformatted text formatting option in the editor for all log entries and configuration output.
  • If screenshots are useful, feel free to include them.
    • If possible, also include key error output in text form so it can be searched for.
  • Try to edit log output only minimally (if at all) so that it can be ran through analyzers / formatters by those trying to help you.

The log you posted are debug logs. You’re seeing them because your loglevel is set to 0:

From documentation:

Loglevel to start logging at. Valid values are:

  • 0 = Debug
  • 1 = Info
  • 2 = Warning
  • 3 = Error
  • 4 = Fatal.

Defaults to 2 (Warning)

As soon as you set the log level back to the default, your log will likely stop being flooded.

thank you for the information, but should I fix the two issues, especially the the one that unable to set the timezone?

The first one is more a deprecation/tech debt matter; it’s not an error per se. The message is for devs.

For the second one you’d have to provide the full raw stack trace as noted in the support template rather than just the short entry you posted.

You’re using an operating system that’s designed for embedded devices and is therefore lightweight. I would imagine that OpenWrt doesn’t include all time zone data. But that’s just speculation, because I’m not familiar with OpenWrt

Did you install PHP directly (as distribution packet), or are you using Docker?

In PHP, you can check which time zones are available as follows:

php -r 'foreach (DateTimeZone::listIdentifiers() as $tz) echo $tz . PHP_EOL;'

Is America/Los_Angeles available in your case? If not, you’ll need to configure a different time zone in Nextcloud, or check how to install the correct time zone on OpenWrt.

According to my research (Google skills ), there is a package for OpenWrt called zoneinfo-america, which should contain America/Los_Angeles.

If it isn’t already installed, you can install it as follows:

opkg update
opkg install zoneinfo-core zoneinfo-america

Thank you for suggestion. I installed packages for all zones, the error message disappeared. However, I still cannot change the time zone in Nextcloud, it always goes back to Los_Angles after I refresh the Personal Info page. In Openwrt, I can set different timezone freely. Not sure why nextcloud is locked to Los_Angeles.

After installing the zone packages, no more messages for timezone although I still cannot change the timezone. As now there is no error message, could not get the full raw stack trace any more.

As soon as you change the time zone: Do you see an error in the browser’s DevTools console (usually accessible by pressing F12) or in nextcloud.log?

sorry for late reply, was out of country for a while. After enabling development tools, I do see an error on TimeZone(see screenshot):

To be surprised, now if I change the timezone, it will accept and won’t stick on Los Angeles. Changing timezone also works after development tool closed. Very strange!
