Sharing not working with all user

Hi,

I have a new installation of nextcloud and the sharing between user seams not working between all user.

For exemple with the admin account I can share with my user “maya” but still with my admin account I cannot share with the account “user”.

When I create a false account name “Patric”, I cannot share with him and when I’m on the “Patric” account I cannot see “admin” in the search place for sharing.

It’s stange. I search on this forum but I cannot found a lead.

Has anyone had this before ?

First of all, you completely skipped the support template — without basic information this can’t be properly addressed.
Your post is missing the Nextcloud version, installation type (Docker, Snap, classic), PHP version, database used, list of active apps, and any relevant logs — without this, it’s pure guesswork what might be causing the issue.

At least check the following points:

• whether the users are in the same groups
• whether “restrict sharing to group members only” is enabled in the sharing settings
• whether the new user has logged in at least once (otherwise they might not appear in the sharing search)
• whether you have apps like Circles, Group folders, ACL installed which could affect sharing
• whether indexing/cache might be causing a delay (some changes only take effect after a while)

Without the missing basic information, it’s hard to give any proper advice.

Sorry for the delay. It’s ok now. You are right, the group sharing settings are not good.

I have only 2 users in nexcloud server on ubuntu. Version 31.0.6
Both users function normally. Both are members of group admin.
when I press Share there is drop down menu to select the user to share with, and it is empty like in the screenshot of the topic starter

There ist in global settings a security option to allow user to see other users. Maybe that is your wrong setting.

I looked in tab Administration - Basic settings/sharing/security
And I cannot find the setting that you are talking about.
How is it called?
