I hope you are doing well.

I have identified an application in the Nextcloud app store—specifically, empleados ( https://apps.nextcloud.com/apps/empleados ) —that is currently not available in the Transifex libraries for translation. As a contributor/translator, I would like to help localize this and potentially other applications in a similar situation.

Could you please clarify the following:

  1. What is the process for requesting the addition of a Nextcloud app to Transifex?
  2. Are there specific requirements or steps that need to be fulfilled (e.g., developer approval, app maturity criteria)?
  3. Who should be contacted to initiate this process?

You need to differenciate between apps provide by Nextcloud and 3rd-party apps provided by someone else. Only apps provided by Nextcloud are translated via Transifex. You need to reach-out to the developer and ask him how he is handling translation requests.

glad you find the way to our beloved community forums as well!

We translate core server bundle apps and many other 3rd party apps as well.

The most important thing to determine first is whether the app’s lead developer wants a translation.

The app must be set up for localisation.
If that is the case, an issue must be created at https://github.com/nextcloud/docker-ci/issues.

There you’ll find the “:input_symbols: Request translations” template, which describes everything in detail.

Sorry, but localization seems to be the least of this app’s problems. :wink:

I installed it and immediately ran into an internal server error. Then I tried to assign the Data Manager role as described here: empleados/README.md at main · Destripador/empleados · GitHub

Result: another HTTP 500 error.

I’m not a developer, and I can’t really judge the code quality. However, judging from my experience, and just the general “vibes” :wink: I get from the GitHub repository, issues, and documentation, I don’t exactly get the impression that there’s a wealth of software engineering experience behind this project. Of course, I could be completely wrong.
