Nexctloud not available as storage location

Hi,

I replaced my Samsung A52 running Android 15 with an Samsung A56 running Android 16. I installed the Nexcloud App and tried it with the versions from Google Play Store and FDroid. On my A52 I can see my nextcloud storage as file location (content provider) to store data, as I can do with google drive and dropbox. On my A56 I can no more do so. So this seems to be same problem as Nextcloud app not shown as Content Provider in 2021, but none of the suggested solutions works for me.

I activated all requested access rights for the Nextcloud app, including all file access under special Access rights. I have not activated an App-PIN.

I am running Nextcloud server 31.0.8. On Android I am running the Nextcloud App Version 3.34.0 from F-Droid, but I also tried it using the recent version from google play store. On server I see no log entries.

Can anybody help me?

I’m sorry no ideas. On my Pixel 9 running Android 16 I see Nextcloud storage (e.g. Files > “Other storage”) and can use it to “share” documents

On my Pixel 8 running Android 16 too

Hmmm… now it works. All I did was installing some apps, e.g. the files app from google. Before I used the one from google. Now I can access nextcloud again. It still does not appear in samsungs file app, but I can e.g. load settings from MacroDroid and store attachments in FairMail. Both did not work until now…

Thanks! For me it is solved…
