Maybe there is a simple solution.
I am using nextcloud 32, freshly installed, on nginx/Hetzner, and I knew from fewer versions that you could edit .md files in the browser. Is it gone?

Hey @wab welcome to the Nextcloud community ![]()
nope, its still there and works the same as it always did… except if you have an office app/editor app installed that overrides that default file association setting.
now you omitted to complete the Support template. Please use this when you request support so we’re just guessing ![]()
the first thing that comes to mind is the case where .md files are associated with an office app and no office app is active (which would be the case on most hosted instances). so to confirm that, see which apps are installed and if there is some sort of office app file association there.
can you confirm that .txt files can be edited in the browser through the Nextcloud UI?
Unfortunately not.
