Just created a new VM on Ubuntu 24.04 with Nextcloud 30, migrated the old one to this new Nextcloud server (manual copy files, rescan, making user accounts again). So it should be a very clean install.
Now the second day, the desktop client has 7 accounts for 7 specific users, all which need to login again so I am confronted with 7 logonscreens again and again and again and…
Tried to restart the client, tried to login one by one, seems to fail. App password does not work.
This whole login thing needs to be redesigned…
Re-installed the client, still no luck
I moved your post since the original post was a bit old, versions might be different and the underlying problem might be different as well.
So the first day it was working?
Does it work for 1 account, and 1 user? With/without app password? Login on web-interface works I suppose.
You need to narrow down the problem, is this problem because of using multiple accounts, or is it already not working for a single one. Is it just the desktop client, or a more general problem.
I’ve got it sort of working again, by just ignoring all popups, log off from nextcloud which seems to always remember who was logged in last time (THIS is one thing which needs to be fixed, browserbased, never remember, then no problem with these popups)
Logon as a certain user, find the corresponding popup, and activate again.
Restarted the PC, all succeeded but one account failed numerous times, deleted account from client, added it again and now everything is back to normal.
That it is working for many is the exact same thing our devvers at my company tell me. And boy, they fail everytime when they find the bug…
If you migrate, possibly the app passwords won’t work any more. And even if you copy tables, there is a risk that the passwords are salted with a string from the config file.
If you manage to find a way to reproduce the issue that will be really nice for a bug report.
My second pc synced good for the first time, if it stays connected tommorow, then it probably was something like this. The moment I have a similair issue I will try to reproduce it!
