Linux and Android Apps Will Not Authenticate From Browser

Hi all, I am very new to nextcloud but I have it set up on my truenas server. I can access it without issue, however when I try to login to the linux or android apps they both sit on authenticating without ever logging in.

The Basics

  • Nextcloud Server version: 31.0.8
  • Operating system and version: Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS
  • Web server and version: TrueNAS Community 25.04.2.3
  • Reverse proxy and version: None
  • PHP version: Unclear what this is
  • Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Yes / No): Yes
  • When did this problem seem to first start? Immediately after installing the apps.
  • Installation method: Cosmic Store and FDroid
  • Are you using CloudfIare, mod_security, or similar? No

Summary of the issue you are facing:

Nextcloud Linux and Android apps never log in. They just keep polling the browser for authentication which it never completes

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

  1. Install app
  2. Enter my server location (ip address:port)
  3. Click enter
  4. My browser opens (to my truenas login) navigate to my nextcloud web gui and log in.

How are you doing HTTPS?

Please post your config as described in the support template..

Also before proceeding further, do you have any errors or warnings under Administration settings->Overview?

Hi, i am not doing any https. Is that necessary? I have been struggling to get a reverse proxy working and so just planned to use tailscale.

Which config do you need? I have posted everything from the template to the best of my ability but am happy to try again if you need something specific.
