Hi everyone, I need some help to get Collabora Online Code (docker container) to work with Nextcloud Hub 10 31.08 (non docker) on Ubuntu Server 24.04 running on my LAN. I have to access my server apps via a Pangolin proxy hosted on a VPS as I use 5G for my internet connection and as such I cannot use port fowarding to incoming internet requests.
I have got my proxy hosts set up so Nextcloud runs well and I get the Ok response from Collabora when I open the web page https://sub.domain.tld as the proxy is set up to open the correct LAN ip address using port 9980.
In the Nextcloud Office Administration page I have entered the above URL in the Use your own server section and the Nextcloud URL in the Allow list for WOPI requests. The info at the top of the page informs me the Collabora Online server is reachable and states the correct URL’s in the URL used by the browser and Nextcloud URL used by Collabora settings.
However, I also get an error dialog stating something went wrong, please try to refresh the page but a refresh does not fix the problem. When I try to open or create files I also get an error.
I can see errors in the docker logs for Collabora so wondered if anyone would be willing for me to send them the logs to try and resolve the issue. I could also send other info like docker compose file, apache virtual host, proxy settings etc. I get the feeling I’m so close to a working configuration but after trying everything I can think of I’ve just hit a wall.
Please follow Collabora integration guide for troubleshooting and review references to VPS and VPN for idea how to overcome problems with limited internet.
I’m giving up on Nextcloud and Collabora as although I feel like I’m very close to getting it working I can’t just keep on searching for solutions any more, I’ve been doing this for months now. It is so frustrating because before I changed internet provider I used to run Nextcloud and Collabora perfectly well using port forwarding on a router and Nginx Proxy Manager to open all my hosted apps. Now I can’t do that any more the complexity of having to use a proxy running on a VPS has just screwed things up completely. Unless someone else is using Pangolin proxy and hosting Nextcloud with Collabora and is prepared to share their knowledge I’m screwed.
Hey @Andrew_Lewis welcome to the Nextcloud community forum
getting frustrated is no solution why don’t you try get some input from the pangolin folks? they seem like friendly helpful fellows. feel free to request Nextcloud support from the Nextcloud community, but if you’re having issues with your chosen reverse proxy, the pangolin folks are your best bet.
don’t hiss the white flag yet… stay strong
, keep trying and share your knowledge…
