Having some problems with Nextcloud, any freelance or consultant here?
Background: Individual user trying to set up my system to back up my files. I have had trouble trying to set up my Nextcloud client on my desktop; it’s not working. I will need this because when I upload files in the web experience, it partially uploads. I also noticed today that it was not able to take up my files in the web dashboard.
Besides that hope you can give me advice on making sure I have taken precautions with safeguarding data on my VPS server.
You should give a little more details about your exact needs and configurations of your server to get some help. You run NC on a VPS but did you install it yourself ? Do you use only standard apps ? how many users on it ? (only you ?)…
If you are planning self-hosting you should review 101: Self-hosting information for beginners it’s not only “setup” - more operational tasks like backup, upgrading etc are to come - you should be aware before you start.
While it’s good idea to involve professionals to perform tasks you are not skilled enough it’s not a good idea to do this publicly in the internet. From my experience the forum is very kind but you still should never trust “somebody on the internet” to manage your system - better search for a local professional/company your know and trust.
