Iâm not French, so I donât know if thereâs a debate or disagreement on this in France, but to me that smells like someone trying to use this forum for some kind of political propaganda.
Are you a Trump voter? So for you, the Gulf of Mexico should be called the Gulf of America? Thatâs a stupid thought. It wasnât the governments that established this day, but the socialist international workers. Later, the name was changed by a Nazi collaborator. Please open a history bookâŠ
I doubt, however, that gender-neutral language was already a thing back then
No, Iâm not, and I even have some sympathy for your version of the name, but I think Nextcloud should stick to the official naming here. By the way, in German it is called âTag der Arbeitâ, which literally translates to: Day of the Work or Jour de la Travail.

But I never said it was neutral, and it has never been neutral, on the contrary.

However, today there is no âofficial nameâ, nothing in the legislation indicates that May 1st is Labor day, nothing, and in France, this term is not used by all politicians, even within the government.
Some governments have used this term, while others used the term Day of workers.
