Hello everyone,
I’m experiencing some issues with installing Nextcloud, specifically with its Android apps. The apps perform poorly during synchronization - they stop uploading photos and fail to sync the calendar. I keep receiving a message stating that my IP address isn’t in the trusted domains.
I’ve noticed that after several attempts, the installation goes into what seems to be a safe mode and becomes unresponsive for a few minutes before coming back to life. The problem seems to stem from my IP address changing when I log in from my phone.
Does anyone have a solution for using the Nextcloud app on Android?
Thank you in advance!
Unfortunatelly you ignored the support template you removed while typing in your posting above.
I will try to guess, what you did not communicate with us:
- Nextcloud Android app 3.30.7 is buggy, so install 3.30.5 from F-Droid
- In normal cases Letsencrypt should be installed on Nextcloud server for access from internet. If you want to use Nextcloud from internal network only, you will have to assign a static IP address to Nextcloud server and add this IP address to config.php
- To syncronize calendar and contacts you will need the app DavX5 from Google Play store. While configuring it, take care to mark “Do not validate certificate” or similar.

Thank you very much for your help.
The installation is on a purchased server with SSL and its own domain name. I don’t have major issues with it. The problem arises when I try to synchronize it with Android. I followed your advice and, although I haven’t fully tested it yet, the installation from F-Droid seems to work properly. For now, I’m testing it, but I’m still struggling with the calendar because I can’t find a working app.
The calendar-synvc will be done by DAVx5 from Google Play. Before installing just configure a calendar on your device, either the default calendar or f.ex. “aCalendar”, the free version of aCalendar+.
In DAVx5-settings configure the Nextcloud instance using the link given by Nextcloud in the browser.
