After 3.14.1 client update: unreadable main dialog style (white letters on light-grey background)

using windows 10
since the latest nextcloud client update, the main dialog (the window which pops up when i left-click the nextcloud icon in the tray) is styled in a buggy way. the dialog window background - which just before had been dark grey alright, according to my preference set in Windows for “dark mode” - is colored in light-grey, but the text is still white (as it had been correct in dark mode but now renders it unreadable).

i tried a repair installation and also tried changing from dark mode to bright mode again in Windows. But this window style seems stuck! I often check the main dialog because of its detailed pieces of sync information/errors.

Greetings,

This is a known issue in version 3.14: Nextcloud background is white 3.14.0

The solution is to downgrade to version 3.13.4 until it is resolved. You can download the installer package here: Release Release 3.13.4 · nextcloud-releases/desktop · GitHub

thanks!
how to do the downgrade? do i just overwrite the buggy new installation with the old one? or do i need to uninstall the new version before installing the older one? if the latter, will i have to carefully re-create all the currently synced folders for every linked account to avoid conflicts?

I’m not sure how to do it properly in Windows… I’m using linux CachyOS… it’s very easy there.

The nextcloud desktop client has one config file (.cfg). It contains all your settings.
Please read the following link to find the location of this file on your platform:

https://docs.nextcloud.com/desktop/3.14/troubleshooting.html#config-file

Backup this file before uninstall and reinstall older version.
