Admin Group vanished

Heyo, I am running a nextcloud instance with the groupfolders app. I am the admin and part of the group “admin”. But this group has vanished.

Nextcloud version: 25
Operating system and version : Debian 10
Apache or nginx version: 1.14.2-2
PHP version: 7.4

The issue you are facing:
I don’t exactly know when it vanished, but I think it was during the update from ver 24 to 25. The group still works. The admin group seems to still be working. Older groupfolders that were assigned the “admin” group are still accessible for me. But I cannot add the “admin” group to groupfolders where it is not already set.

Can I just create a new admin group or will this just break more things?

You can read this thread. There is an issue linked in the thread.

I think you can create an alternative group for your admins and add the new group to the group folders. Maybe it is the better solution while the problem is not solved … if it is a problem and not a feature.

Thanks, the GitHub issue listed a perfect OCC command, that I could use to assign admin to the folder.

Yes. You can also use the occ-command seen in the issue.
occ groupfolders:group YourFolderId admin
