Accessing Nextcloud in VMWare Workststion via Nord - Meshnet

I have a small home server with a few external disks connnected to it, running Windows 11 with NordVPN and Meshnet enabled.

I also run Home Assistant, Plex, etc. on there.

All of these I can access via the IP that NordVPN provided to the server (Meshnet), but not Nextcloud.

I have Nextcloud 1 TB VM from HanssonIT running in VMWare with bridged networking. I have set a static local IP during installation. I can’t seem to connect to Nextcloud via the Meshnet’s IP.

What am I doing wrong here? I’ve tried disabling the firewall completely on the laptop but to no avail.

How do you call the Nextcloud server (address)? - Is a ping < nextcloud server > successful, while VPN is up?
Did you add the Nextcloud server’s address, you are calling, to config.php?
What does the Nextcloud and the webserver’s log tell?
Unfortunatelly you did not fill the support template with the necessary information.

Did you enable port forwarding in your router th the Nextcloud instance (ports 80 and 443).
Did you take care, that your VPN and Nextcloud work in the same IP-range/subnet inside your private network?

My internet provider is Starlink, so I’m behind CGNAT even though I have their router in bypass mode and I’m using my own one.

If I’m not mistaken you do not need port forwarding at all if I only want to use NordVPN’s Meshnet IP of the server?

If I understood this correctly, I should be able to access the server if I add the Meshnet IP of the server in the trusted domains list?

But only, if the call of the Nextcloud server reaches the server itself - see Apache/Nginx and Nextcloud logfiles.

Do you only want to access Nextcloud via VPN?

What about the ping-command? - Do you get answer from Nextcloud server, if you do a
ping < server-IP >
or
ping < server name >
if connected via VPN?

What about the IP-addresses? - Is the IP-address of the Nextcloud server within the same subnet as the local IP-address of VPN server?
