How can Nextcloud not figure out a silent update for the Windows App??
You simply cannnot install nextcloud for any customer with this update popups. Its far to often for anyone to always click it and restart their PC.
It works great for me. But after trying it with 2 friends I will never try it with customers.
From my experience, some windows updates and/or other software (not sure which ones, there are just the browsers in my case I think) installing updates in the background make the system behave strangely (delayed response, very bad performance, strange errors, …), it really drives you crazy because you see no link, restarting software does not change anything, the task manager shows now important usage of any resources. But a system restart often solves the issue.
Now, when I see anything strange, I first restart the computer.
If Microsoft cannot figure this out properly, how should Nextcloud do it. On top of all the problems there are still linked with the upgrade process (restart that is required or not, …), I wouldn’t like such software silently upgrade in the background during an important presentation.
the client comes as .msi package which you can install and upgrade using any management systems as you want. this is how it is expected to work in a managed environment.
