Windows clients are not logged off after the changing of password

I’m using Nextcloud 21.0.2 on Debian; nothing special on the installation.

I changed my password on the Nexcloud web site. I would think, that it would log off all the clients connected to my Nextcloud installation, but my connected Windows clients was not disconnected and were keeping synchronisation.

Is it a bug or is it a feature?

I would say this is expected. Each client keeps its own session running and this session remains active even if you change passwords. If you want to remove/disconnect some or all clients you can do thus through settings > security
