Hi!

Which mail provider do you connect/connect with NextCloud?

Should I simply use Gmail with my custom domain or I use some open source provider that then also saves mails on the Nextcloud server and not google?

Nextcloud does not save emails. You can use every email provider.

But I can enable email backing up to nextcloud server also, right?

I recommend Thunderbird if the goal is to archive and backup email, along with support for Nextcloud and Google.

You can make a backup and sync it to Nextcloud. Mail app is a client, similar to Thunderbird.

Then it makes sense I install Nextcloude with all apps and Thunderbird mail on the same VPS, right?
And then I could also copy the whole VPS to another VPS or my computer at home somehow?
