If I add an attachment to a Notes document (say, an image or a PDF) where does that attached file actually get saved?
I can’t find these attachments anywhere in my Nextcloud files. I can tell from the file size that they aren’t somehow saved within the .md file.
The reason I’d like to know this is so that I can understand how they fit into any backup routine, and also how things will behave if I want to open the .md files in another application.

For anyone else wondering the same thing and coming across this thread, I worked out the answer:
The attachments are saved as “hidden” files in the same folder. The file names start with a dot. At least on mac, it’s possible to view hidden files if you want. Moving the parent files (using the file browser within Nextcloud) seems to automatically move the attachment files along with them).
