What to backup before installing a new version?

Hi,
I’m regulary installing new versions of Nextcloud. I follow the guide in
https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/latest/admin_manual/maintenance/manual_upgrade.html . What is to backup before updating ? I have three BTRFS Subvolumes: /, /var, /home. My data folder is in /home. Is it enough to keep the folder nextcloud.old ? Or do i habe to backup more ?
Btw: is there a repository for Ubuntu with reasonably current versions ?

Hi Bernd,

I think everyone has various preferences and various preferences for risks but on my own instance I usually make sure that I could do a full reinstall in case of a worst case scenario.

Please read backup and restore.

Think about how you would restore the backup. You can go through it in your mind. By the way, a test system would be better.
