There are related and potentially outdated topics in this forum but I struggle to figure out the current status. What is best practice and state of the art to book or reserve resources like rooms or some inventory via Nextcloud?

Here I posted my experience with this app.
Conclusion: I am able to install the app and create rooms but fail to use those rooms as resource in appointments.
Status: WIP 
I just installed the calendar-resource app and created a building resource, with a single floor and three rooms, then went on to create calendar events that involve a resource and, you’re right, the resources aren’t listed in the “search for resources and rooms” drop-down list. If, however, you start searching via the search text box then I find that it works as intended. Specifically, I entered a “L” and both “Living room” and “Lounge room” were shortlisted, but “Bedroom” wasn’t. Clicking an item in the list adds it to your meeting after checking that the resource is actually available. Not the most intuitive way to do it, but it works.
