"WebDAV + Quota" on Apple - someone please verify

I think I might have encountered a bug in nextcloud or apple-webdav (or both?). someone with an apple client please verify this:

Nextcloud 11.0.0
PHP 5.6.28
mysql 5.5.53
Debian 4.7.8-1~bpo8+1

  • Two Users (A and B)
  • A has a quota of 100MB
  • B has a quota of 2GB
  • B shares a folder “upload_test” with A

Now use a mac/apple and connect User A via WebDAV as described in the user-manual (https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/11/user_manual/files/access_webdav.html#accessing-files-using-mac-os-x) and try to upload a file/folder bigger than 100MB into the shared folder “upload_test”.
error message states that there is not enough free space.

edit: clarifications

  1. Please update to a current version first (10.0.1), it might have solved the issue already.
  2. I think this could be related that a network drive is associated with a single quota and the system can’t consider different quotas for folder within the same storage. Did you try to connect to the subfolder directly?
