Very slow per file action since 3.17.0

Hello
EDIT: Issues are since 3.17.0. I’ve confirmed this on different server and different clients. When installing 3.16.4 everything is good. Whats in common between my servers is TruneNAS. I’ve updated docker app to latest version with no success. Still a looot of time between files.

I’ve updated to version 3.17.1 on Wiundows 11, and since then, I’ve been experiencing major performance issues, both on local and internet networks.

When downloading or uploading a single large file, everything works fine and the speed is normal. However, when transferring multiple smaller files, it creates one file every 2–3 seconds, regardless of the file size. I can see in logs every one of them.

(For reference, everything works normally in a web browser.)

Is this a known issue? Should I roll back to the previous version?
Last time I did that, I had to re-sync all my files and basically reainstall nextcloud in new folder

I just found issues regarding Linux and macOS:

There was a release of 3.17.1. I’d try this first, if the issue was also fixed for you, if not, make sure you post a bug report here:
https://github.com/nextcloud/desktop/issues

If there is a quick fix and they have a testing version for you, you can perhaps use that one. If it takes longer, then reverting to the previous version is an option. When they do not change anything in the config files, then the old client should still work (you could check the config, if it contains a version).

I’ve updated to 3.17.2 and still have the same issue. I have to use 3.16.6. I’ve checked on two different servers, on different networks, local or internet, it doesn’t matter.
The only thing in common is that both servers are running as Docker containers on TrueNAS.
Every file takes a few seconds to start syncing, even if its few KBs. No one else is having this? This issue from github above is closed and it still occurs in 3.17.2

Great, you can reproduce it, you see a clear difference between the versions, best conditions for a bug report. And if your bug is different, it is better to open a new topic (even if symptoms are similar).

Yes, this is a bit strange. But the fact that you can reproduce, the developers should know what changed, so they can give better hints what to check for. Leave a link to your issue here for others to follow up.

Yes, I reported a bug and it turned out to be simple fix. This upgrade changed network setting to limit bandwith

Oh wow. Noticed this accidentally: file sync is awfully slow. ChatGPT redirected me here and YES, this was my Windows desktop client’s setting with v3.17.2:

Of course I removed those automatic upload and download bandwith limitations instantly again! No idea when exactly they got introduced, some update must have messed those settings. Gosh, lost 1 hour with tests, checking every component on the server side…

Thank you. Omg, who created this? I thought there was some issue with the server performance and it was this damn feature. 3 hours for download 10 GB when there is 2.5 Gbit between me and the server, after turning it off was done in a minute.
