Using SMB with all the extra features

I’m using NC for a while, but my main storage is in Windows machine, so I link my storage with ‘External Storage’ and connect via SMB, but it’s limit the ‘share’ option, and taking a while…

I also try to use AWS S3 as my main storage (it’s cheaper) but still the features is limited.
Any chance to use external same as local ?

Nextcloud only runs on linux systems. Instead of using a SMB share to Windows or an AWS S3 share you can perhaps mount on your linux systems a cheap NFS storage and access it with the option “local”. Perhaps this is also possible with sftp or sshfs to a cheap sftp/ssh-storage. Here an example but it is more a backup plattform.

I’m using Windows, since the off-site backup is cheap in that price (backblaze is only for windows and mac), in that way I store 4TB in cloud as off-site backup…
If I will change my storage to linux and use NFS, I will lose my backup…
