Users with new groups can't share files or open directories

Nextcloud version (eg, 20.0.5): 28.0.4
Operating system and version (eg, Ubuntu 20.04): Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm)
Apache or nginx version (eg, Apache 2.4.25): nginx/1.22.1
PHP version (eg, 7.4): 8.2.17

The issue I am facing:

I guess there is a super simple solve for this, but after searching the forum I didn’t find anything.

Basically I have a group that I made after the installation, and user with this group can do anything as expected.

Now, if I add a new group that is only for specific users, and these users only have the new group assigned, they can’t share files and folders with eachother. Besides that, they can’t even open directories, instead they start the .htm file download.

Is this the first time I’ve seen this error? (Y/N): Y

Steps to replicate it:

  1. Create new group via settings/users
  2. Create new users via settings/users
  3. Assign new group to new users
  4. After login the users experiences the state described above

Thanks in advance! :slightly_smiling_face:

Check your sharing settings. There are some options which restricting sharing across/within groups:

You also may want to bump up to 28.0.5.
