Hallo Gemeinde, ich nutze Nextcloud schon eine ganze Weile unter SuSE. Jetzt habe ich SuSE Tumbeleed mit php 7.4.2 aufgesetzt. Weiterhin nutze ich Mariadb 10.3.20 und Nextcloud 18 und Apache2.
Nachdem ich den Benutzer nextcloud in der Datenbank angelegt habe eine Datenbank nextcloud erstellt habe und dem Benutzer Nextcloud alle Rechte für diese Datenbnk erteilt habe gehe ich zum InstallationsLOGIN.
Nach Eingabe des admin Benutzers und des Datenbank Nutzers mit Passwort und entsprechener Datenbank “rödelt” der Rechner ca. 30 Sekunden als würde er die Installation abschließen.
Bringt mir aber dann die Fehlermeldung: Username is invalid because files already exist for this user
Wenn ich jetzt die ganzen Daten nochmals eingebe, kommt die Fehlermeldung ohne das der Rechner arbeiten muss, sofort (die config.php ist ja auch schon erstellt).
Ich kann mich aber über die Konsole in mysql normal als Benutzer nextcloud einloggen und die Datenbank ist auch vorhanden. Auch die Verwendung von phpMyAdmin zum anlegen des Benutzers und der Datenbank führt zum gleichen Ergebnis. Wenn ich die config.php wieder lösche die Nextcloudseite erneut lade erschein wieder das InstallationsLOGIN. Was mir aufgefallen ist, ist das die Datei CAN_INSTALL nach der missglückten Installation noch im Verzeichnis config ist. Habe sie auch mal testweise gelöscht brachte aber auch nichts.
Was mache ich hier falsch?

so… habe den Fehler gefunden. Also ich habe ja in meiner mariaDB den Hauptbenutzer root angelegt. Wenn man root ebenfalls als admin für die Nextcloud verwenden möchte kommt es zu dieser Fehlermeldung. Eigentlich darf das nicht sein, da ja Nextcloud in keinster Weise mit seinem Hauptbenutzer an den Datenbankserver heran tritt sondern nur den normalen Datenbanknutzer übermitteln darf. schon sehr seltsam.

The problem I have is this:
I successfully installed Nextcloud in a docker container but then due to other issues completely deleted the appdata share. Now that I come to reinstall Nextcloud I cannot either create the admin account using my original username or add it afterwards as a user. The error I get when trying to add it as a the initial admin account is that “Username is invalid because files already exist for this user” (see attached file) but that user does not appear on any list and, therefore cannot be deleted. If I try to add the username using the web GUI, I get the error “An error occured during the request. Unable to proceed. Bad request”. The Mariadb has also been deleted, reinstalled and a new database created.
It seems that the original username is stored somewhere even though it is not visible. Are you able to help me delete it so that it can be used again?

I had the same problem with docker setup, and I resolved it by deleting my local /data/admin/ folder that I was sharing with the nextcloud container.
That folder was created during first installation process, on both container and host. Even though I deleted docker containers/volumes, when I rerun installation process, those files were still there. That explains the " Username is invalid because files already exist for this user" error.
Maybe it will help others.
