User login into Nextcloud not possible anymore

Summary of the issue you are facing:

I cannot login any more

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

  1. Login always says wrong user or password
  2. There is only one user
  3. Password reset doesn’t send email
  4. Nexclout client is still connected and synchronizes
  5. I have verified the username and email in the database
  6. I tried FireFox and Edge
  7. Deleting whole browser history did not help

I can think of two actions you can do:

  1. there is a max. failed login counter. [ Users getting disabled due to invalid login attempts from `passwords` app ] Do you see anything in the log about this?

  2. You can reset your admin password. See Resetting a lost admin password — Nextcloud latest Administration Manual latest documentation
