Update-Problem Nextcloud 12.0.4 to 13 / The following extra files have been found: storage

Hi everyone,

the update (from 12.0.4 to 13) failed because of the following error:

Check for expected files
The following extra files have been found:
storage

All my user data are in storage (folder created by Nextcloud). Is there a workaround?

Hi,

I have the same issue.
When installing nextcloud, I chose a different name for data storage and that causes issues when trying to upgrade.

I read some topics upon assets directory, but nothing about a different name for data storage directory.

Hello,

I’m having the same issue. Used a new name (nextclouddata) for storage that now is preventing updates. Anyone ever find a solution?

Move the storage folder out of the document root. Renaming the folder is just security by obscurity.
