Uninstalling Apps does not remove their data

Nextcloud version 21.0.0
Ubuntu 20.04 x86_64
Apache/2.4.41
PHP 7.4.3
mariadb Ver 15.1 Distrib 10.3.25-MariaDB, for debian-linux-gnu (x86_64) using readline 5.2

I recently tried uninstalling the [featured] News app, and after disabling then removing it, I noticed that although the static files were no longer present from the /apps folder, all of the data was still present in the database. This also caused issues with subsequently reinstalling the app, since the reason for uninstalling it to start with was to reset it to factory defaults due to some corrupt data generated by the app itself when adding a defunct rss feed.

My expectation is that when I ask for something to be removed, I mean it and all the personal data associated with it. If the associated database tables are not dropped entirely, they should at least be restored to factory defaults per the nextcloud installation. This was not the case, and no warning was given that this was not the case.

Hi @not_applicable , there is an ongoing discussion about this. You can find it here:
