Unable to determine collabora URL of remote server [ Federate share ]

current setup production server

nextcloud 11 normal bz2 extraction upgraded till current 24.0.3

mariadb 10

apache2 php8.1-fpm

been running for years with collabora docker no problems.

for testing purpose Virtual machine

nextcloud 16 bz2 extraction upgraded till latest 24.0.3

mariadb 10

apache2 php7.4-fpm

had own collabora docker now using the collabora on the main server

each cloud can connect to office with it’s own documents.

I can share a document have it writable and everyone with the url can access it.

how ever I cannot connect to office with a federated shared document. eighter way.

cloud.vstans.nl reports in logs cloud.usee,ga is not trusted and cloud.usee.ga reports cloud.vstans.nl is not trusted.

i have added both domains to each others config.php to test with no success.

have added both servers to trusted servers in sharing trusted federation server. no succes as in a solution a succes as both are now trusted federate servers though users still have to accept the share I thought federate shares did not require confirmation.

currently running docker with the following command

docker run -t -d \

-e ‘aliasgroup2=https://cloud.usee.ga’ \

I see in my logs that cloud.usee.ga requests access as usee.ga so i tried a few other settings with no success

‘aliasgroup1=https://cloud.vstans.nl,https://cloud\\.usee\\.ga|https://usee\\.ga’

‘aliasgroup2=https://cloud.usee.ga,https://usee\\.ga|https://cloud\\.vstans\\.nl’

this resulted in cloud.vstans.nl to not be able to use office anymore.

also tried ‘aliasgroup2=http://cloud.usee.ga,10.8.0.5|usee.ga’ but no positive or negative effect.

I am not that familiar with docker I ran it once and worked out of the box there not seem to be a docker.log nor is it logged in syslog.

i came across this question and this report in the logging part of my nc.

# Federated file editing

Collabra Online offers support for collaborative editing of files that are shared through federated
sharing. The file will always be opened on the file owners instance (Source) and other users will
connect to that through their Nextcloud instance (Initiator).

In a federated scenario both Nextcloud servers need to add each other as trusted servers or in a
global scale environment a list of nodes can be added through the `gs.trustedHosts` setting in the
config.php file:

Using wildcards is also possible:

If you want to have one central CODE-Server than you have to add the NC’s in coolwsd.xml as groups and define the coolwsd mode to ‘groups’ instead ‘first’

Last is needed to open localfiles of each nc through central nc.

2x nc and 2x code and federation would lead to this:

use fed code if its a file of an fed. share
