Ubuntu client "offline" after Ubuntu update from 22 to 24

Hello,
I am using the nextcloud client on Ubuntu (and also on other devices).
I updated Ubuntu from 22 to 24. The update process went fine and the system seems to work fine except the Nexcloud client.

The account/server adress is still recognize but I have the following message :

“Le serveur https… est actuellement redirigé ou votre connexion est derrière un portail captif” (in English, the server https… is redirected or behind a captive portal

Consequently, Nexcloud appears “offline” and no sync is possible.

2 remarks (if this can help)

  • I tried with a wifi connection at work, a wired connection at work and a wifi connection at home. Same issue.
  • I also use the windows and android client et they work well
So I don’t think it directly comes from my connection or from a change in my Nextcloud parameters.

Can you please help me ?

Many thanks in advance,

Eric

  • What installation method and version of the Desktop client?
  • Are you doing a redirect somewhere server side (web, proxy) such as maybe for a historical URL migration or similar?

Also, possibly: https://github.com/nextcloud/desktop/issues/5929

Hi Josh,

I installed Nextcloud from the Ubuntu software center and I use client version 3.11.0

I did a standard setup. I did not use any redirect (btw, I do not know what it is and how to do it

Thanks
