Hello everyone,
is it possible to have logs to see how many people have connected to a shared file via the external url?
THANKS
I can see the traces in /Nextcloud/config/log/nginx/access.log but maybe exist something more friendly.

You can use the Activity app. But it do not work for all file types. Test it with public share to a PDF-file that works for me. In the Activity app you can copy the RSS-feed link and search in the RSS-XML-file if you do not like the Nextcloud GUI to search. You can also import the RSS-feed in the Nextcloud app News
Additinal hint:
You can configure a share with read and delete permission. Then the person can download e.g. the PDF and self-deleting the file afterwards.
Your goal?
What is your goal? Maybe there is a better solution for you.
Not really useful to count the hits. The first one who downloads the file can distribute it millions of times through other ways.
Thanks for answer, I go try the activity app.
I think this is exactly what I need, but I don’t get any notifications when a file is downloaded. However, the emails work fine. an idea?
Maybe you can change settings in https://cloud.server.tld/settings/user/notifications
(user) and/or https://cloud.server.tld/settings/admin/activity
(global) But i think that does not help. Have you tested it with a pdf file?
sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t, I can’t understand the logic.
Finely, after two days I have dailies notifications with the rights data.
Thanks.
