全角だと83文字、半角だと250文字が限界のようでしたが、

Linuxで使用できるファイル名は255バイト。
UTF-8の日本語の場合、84文字程度です。
Interresting question, never asked myself if this could actually lead to problems outside the lathin symbol system. After spending some thoughts on it i think the battleneck is the utf-8 encoding here?
