Thunderbird integration

I have a working thunderbird integration with both contacts and calender. On both mulitple Windows and Fedora systems. Yet In Thunderbird I have to specify the url as

https://nextcloud.example.com/remote.php/dav

I’ve seen others struggling with the same problem. I do have all .well-known redirections activated in but that seems not to help.

Is this something to include in the documentation which, if I may point out, suggests users to install unneeded plugins in Thunderbird for WebDav integration. Or is this indeed a configuration that is missing in my server?

The docs were linking to NC 19 version, here is a newer one:

you just need the main domain https://nextcloud.example.com, the .well-known redirections should then get the right URL.

As the time of the writing of the documentation, these plugins were still required.

I understand.

Without any plugins (apart from the *cloud to share doc links) Thunderbird does agenda and contact syncing.

But as indicated I had to provide the url as https://example.com/remote.php/dav

Had to set it up on multiple Windows and Fedora installations and Android. Works splendidly.

please let me know what I’m doing wrong.
