Summary of the issue you are facing:

I recently added hundreds of new photos as mostly jpg, but some dng and other formats. Some of these photos, maybe 50%, have had previews generated for them. The remainder have not.
I’ve tried running,
occ preview:pre-generate
and
occ preview:generate-all
which appear to have done nothing, however I don’t see anything on the terminal as to why it’s failing.

Tips for increasing the likelihood of a response

  • Use the preformatted text formatting option in the editor for all log entries and configuration output.
  • If screenshots are useful, feel free to include them.
    • If possible, also include key error output in text form so it can be searched for.
  • Try to edit log output only minimally (if at all) so that it can be ran through analyzers / formatters by those trying to help you.

I figured it out. There’s a setting that limits the maximum size of an image that will get a preview generated. For some reason it was set to 5MB as a default. I set it to 100MB and now all my images are being indexed.

I found it in the Memories app settings under Administration settings.

Interesting, the manual says the default is 50, however mine was set to 5.
