Good day everyone.
I am interested if an expansion to custom theming could be coded into Nextcloud to allow for setting a list of images to use as background images. I was thinking along the lines of up to five. I’ve used PHP scripts on my own websites to dynamically choose an image randomly as a header image. I also know that Javascript and other methods exist for this same purpose. This would allow for a little more of a surprise or “pop” for those of us that wish to provide a more dynamic experience for our users or highlight local architecture, etc.
Hello @Breezewood,
you started a topic in development category. This category is intended for active developers of the core or apps in the Nextcloud ecosystem.
From the description in your topic, it is not clear if you are seeking help and advice about a concrete problem you have or you want to actually develop the corresponding solution.
Please specify explicitly the required information to help you best. These are:
- What you want to achieve
- What you have done so far
- What is failing
- What you expect from the forum community
Without additional information the community members cannot help you in an efficient manner. Please keep in mind that the help here in the forum are mostly based on work of volunteers and thus it is just fair to reduce the burden on them.
If you accidentally posted in the category, just give a hint and a moderator can move the corresponding category.
Especially, if you want to report an issue (like a found bug) for the corresponding developers to address, this is unfortunately not the right location: most devs will not likely stumble upon the issues in the forum. Such issues are better tracked on GitHub in the appropriate issue tracker. Probably, this is the issue tracker of the server but could be another one as well.
Regards,
christianlupus
Apologies, I was under the understanding that these tags were for making a feature request.
Nope, feature requests are pushed to GitHub to allow for easier tracking of specific progress.
