Seems to be a cleaning job.
Error 2503 and 2502 installing/uninstalling
You know best how to check yourWIN11.
Debian os could/should be updated, but nothing is known what your nc instance is running on.

My installation is running on Debain 11

Yes, that should be updated.
I mean, is it hosted anywhre, did you install it yourself, at home et.al.
The error message gave the hint it is a issue with your win11 system.
Nevertheless you can run

sudo ncc setupchecks

at your nc server

Yes I do host it at home. I have tried the steps to clean up Windows 11 and no luck so far. Still have the same errors. My NextCloud server status show everything is ok.

I would have to agree that this is a Windows issue since I cannot get past the install of the .msi file.

Do you think uninstall the NextCloud App would help? I’m just afraid then I might be stuck if I cannot get the newer version to install

sudo ncc setupchecks

do you mean

sudo occ setupcheck
?

Sorry, but we talk about the win 11 nc-desktop sync client, do we?
You updated the client software and get stuck, so yes, check the installation on win 11, that’s something i am not of much help.
My other advice was a remakr set aside to get the software revisions of software used at your in better sync.
Debian 11 does not fit nc 31 for exp.

Do you have other computers, phone or tablets you could try to install sync client software on?

Than I would try to get rid of the sync client software at your win11 machine and try a new install.

I do have a laptop I could try it on. Since it has been a while, I would just like to add that no other program I have installed has this error. Only the Nextcloud 3.16.6 app is giving this error

No question, I believe your reports, but I never see any install difficulties on my desktop pcs, win 10, different linux distros, bare metal or vm, I just have no win11,

What os is running your laptop?
I propose if win10 than start with the actual installer;
if win11 than try an “older” installer, say 3.14.xx

I have Windows 11 on the laptop also. I am running Nextcloud App v3.16.4 and everything seem to work fine. I just cannot update to the latest version of the Windows Nextcloud app

Your laptop shows the same behaviour as your desktop pc?
Sorry, you should consider to file a bug report.

Sorry to mislead you. No i have not tried the laptop as of yet. I’ll post here the results when i do
