Calling all hackers!

Contribute to Nextcloud and compete for a prize from the EC: join the NextGov Hackathon!

Starting April 25th, Nextcloud and the European Commission’s Open Source Program Office will be hosting a week long Hackathon with the mission to help build and protect Europe’s digital sovereignty.

Help build and protect Europe’s digital sovereignty!

With exciting project topics built around enhancing the Nextcloud platform, you can use your coding skills, expertise, and creativity to improve Nextcloud Deck, Talk, Calendar, Photos and other apps.

Plus, if none of the proposed topics are your cup of tea, you are welcome to come up with your own idea and wow us all.

With your contributions, Nextcloud helps public administrations across Europe to reach digital sovereignty in their digitalization journey. That’s countless universities, governments, and major cities like Geneva and Paris, that will benefit from your talent and motivation.

To provide an extra incentive, the EC is offering cash prizes of up to €5,000 for the coolest, best, most creative contributions during the week!

I would like to contribute to deck. However I fail to see how I can test my ch…anges locally. Would I need a local Nextcloud instance? How would I setup a local docker container to work with the local dev version of deck? I can't find any suitable documentation for setup, can someone point me in the right direction / update the readme to make the setup more clear? To be clear, I tried to follow the [readme](https://github.com/nextcloud/deck/blob/master/README.md?plain=1#L69) part to start a local webpack instance but it fails everytime: ``` npx webpack-dev-server --config webpack.hot.js \ --public localhost:3000 \ --output-public-path 'http://localhost:3000/js/' [webpack-cli] Error: Unknown option '--public' [webpack-cli] Run 'webpack --help' to see available commands and options ``` Hence I think I don't get the full dev setup picture here and something is missing in the install description. ## Update 1. had to temporarily switch my node version back to V14 that brought at least a different set of errors 2. Tried to setup webpack-dev-server commands as per that documentation. Results in: ``` ~/D/D/o/deck ❯❯❯ npx webpack-dev-server --host local-ip --port 3000 --config webpack.hot.js ✘ 2 [webpack-cli] Failed to load '~/D/D/o/deck/webpack.hot.js' config [webpack-cli] Error: Cannot find module './webpack.dev.js' ``` Now as far as I can tell `webpack.dev.js` is actually not located in repo, hence it can't be found - what step am I missing?
