I’ve been on ownCloud since ~4.5 or something around that. I have made a lot of upgrades. I tried “unpack zipfiles”, "git checkout ", “apt-get install”. All of them sucked in some major way.
I think 10.0.1 -> 11.0.0 was the most straightforward upgrade yet. I went with the zipfiles since I switched to nextcloud. Apart from manually reactivating all apps, everything went very very well. Certainly better than I have come to expect.
