The issue you are facing:

The issue you are facing: The Nextcloud Talk mobile app (version 20.0.2) is experiencing severe performance issues and lag in the chat function. Messages frequently take over 2 minutes to load, or the app displays an error message: “There has been an error with loading your messages.” This problem affects the entire team on both iOS and Android devices, making mobile communication impossible.
Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Y/N): No (This issue has been persistent for several weeks.)

Steps to replicate it: 1. Open the Nextcloud Talk Mobile App. 2. Navigate to any conversation (group or private). 3. Result: The chat window remains blank or shows stale messages for 1-2+ minutes before loading, or an error appears. The desktop web version works correctly.

I have just found this link which is good to bookmark

The version of nextcloud you are running is now End Of Life. Try and upgrade as soon as possible.

Look for any clues as to what your server is doing which may help.

  1. nextcloud server logs

  2. System logs, look for memory constraints, application errors

  3. Monitor your network interfaces, utilisation, dropped packets, retries etc

  4. Check your perimeter firewall, Have you increased any inspection rules which would reduce throughput

  5. Check you storage I/O which would affect your database throughput
