Summary of the issue you are facing:
At least one major version ago, and several Talk updates ago, I noticed that under my /Talk folder there were multiple subfolders suddenly existing with a username- alphanumeric number. Inside those folders were Drafts, and more subfolders with an account name - username. I periodically do stale folder cleanup on my system and for one user I removed these folders thinking they were from something that failed an upload.
Now, whenever I have a conversation with this particular user in Talk, if they attach or upload an image to the conversation, I get a message that says “user has shared a file which is no longer available”. I can share images to them, and they see it, and when they attach an image they see it in their thread, but I do not. I realize those folders are somehow now part of the image sharing process.
Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):
-
Go to Talk conversation with specific user, either via mobile app or Web Browser
-
Have this user share/attach a file. Message appears in the conversation thread but from my end says file is no longer available.

Tips for increasing the likelihood of a response
Is there a way to have the system rebuild the missing folder structure and repair for this user? I tried manually rebuilding the folder based on the folder name details from my Activity feed but it doesn’t seem to resolve.
It’s only affecting the user I deleted these folders for. So I would like to try and fix it, as opposed to having to create a whole new user for this person and have them transfer their data to a new account, and then also lose the current Talk history with them.
