Synchronize specific COntacts List with MacOS Adressbook

I wish to syncronize an additional Contacts List with MacOS address book.

  1. Create a new address book (i.e. contacts2)
  2. Add contacts to contacts2
  3. try to sync it with MacOS by copying the contacts2 LINK and inserting it in the fields when adding a new address book in MacOS (select Manual, enter username, PW, server address).

Result:

  1. no matter how the server address is written, it truncates all of the URL coming after the first /
  2. It always only syncs the original contacts list, but not the contacts2 list

Question:

  1. Upon opening the Accounts Preference pane in MacOS and selecting the NExtCloud address book, one can click on SERVER SETTINGS.
  2. The server Settings show in grey: /principals/user/
  3. What should be entered here? No matter what we tried, it still only syncs the Contacts and not COntacts2.

So the question remains:
How can one sync a NextCloud address book with macOS other than the original default contacts list?

We are running:

[Nextcloud Hub 10] (31.0.7)

You can only sync the first global addressbook of macOS.

There are related topics here, please search.

And this cannot be solved by Nextcloud. Apple must change something.

EDIT:

For the records:

Thank you. I saw the other posts, but thought maybe there is an update.

The best work-around I found which was also mentioned in another post is:

  1. Create a new user in nextCloud “CarDAV User”
  2. from the original account, share the desired Contacts list with CarDAV User
  3. in CarDAV user, delete all other contacts lists
  4. Syncronize the Contacts list from CarDAV User with MacOS

this is how it works… a workaround… but it works.
