In order to have Thunderbird sync with nextcloud contacts and calender the link that should be used is this “https://nextcloud.example.com/remote.php/dav/” instead of the nextcloud link. It is imperative to add remote.php/dav/
Could you add this to the documentation on Thunderbird?
If you open the Calendar app, select Settings (lower left corner) and click on “Copy primary CALDAV address” the URL will correctly been provided but I agree it is misleading using “Location (Server URL)” in the documentation:

Thanks j-ed. I’m not entirely sure what you mean there. I cannot connect the Address book with out the link. In my version there is no “Copy primary CALDAV address”
